Get Ready for a Barn-Load of Fun: Exploring Our October "On the Farm" Theme!
Howdy, families! October at Winamac Early Learning Academy is going to be an exciting adventure as we explore life "On the Farm"! Our little learners will be discovering all about the people, animals, and tools that make farm life so important.
Our curriculum is designed to be fully immersive and engaging. Through hands-on activities, songs, and stories, we'll dive into four key areas:
Farm Animals: Learning what they eat and the sounds they make.
Big Machines: Discovering what tractors do and how they help on the farm.
Harvest Time: Celebrating the season with apples, pumpkins, and more.
Farmer's Life & Community: Understanding the important work farmers do to grow crops and care for animals.
A huge part of bringing this theme to life is connecting with our amazing local community! We are so grateful to have some special guests and activities planned to make our farm unit a real, hands-on experience. We want to extend a huge public thank you to:
Jones Dairy for their upcoming visit.
Pulaski Co. SWCD for their "Who Grew my Soup?" demonstration.
A special guest farmer who will be bringing his real tractor for the children to see!
In addition to our wonderful guests, students will get to participate in apple tasting, butter making, pumpkin decorating, and even meet some visiting baby chicks and goats!
The month of October is all about discovering the care, dedication, and hard work that farmers put into feeding families and caring for our land. This is just a snapshot of how we bring learning to life at WELA—by creating an engaging, hands-on, and community-focused experience for our children. We can't wait to watch our little learners grow this October!
