Frequently Asked Questions

What are the operating hours of Winamac Early Learning Academy?

Our full-day preschool program will be open from 5:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday as well as year round. We understand the demanding schedules of working parents, which is why we aim to provide flexibility and convenience by offering extended hours.

What age groups does the preschool program cater to?

Currently, our program is designed for children aged 3 to 5 years old, who are ready to use the restroom independently. We will offer age-appropriate activities and curriculum tailored to each developmental stage.

What is the goal of your full-day preschool program?

Our primary goal is to provide a safe, nurturing, and stimulating environment for children while offering working parents the peace of mind knowing their child is well-cared for during the workday. We believe in fostering a love for learning through engaging activities and social interaction.

What curriculum will you follow?

WELA is thrilled to partner with Experience Curriculum, a comprehensive curriculum that encompasses various areas of development, including cognitive, social, emotional, and physical skills. This curriculum is designed to promote creativity, critical thinking, and a love for learning.

What activities are included in the daily schedule?

Our daily schedule includes a blend of structured activities, such as circle time, arts and crafts, music and movement, as well as free play and outdoor exploration. We believe in providing a balance of teacher-led and child-initiated activities to promote holistic development.

How will you ensure safety of students and staff?

The safety and well-being of our students are our top priorities. We will be utilizing a parent communication app called Brightwheel as well as requiring parents and authorized pick ups to present identification and sign in/out via a secure code. All staff members will undergo thorough background checks and receive training in CPR and first aid.

What about meals and snacks?

Young learners will need to bring a simple cold lunch each day. Cereal and milk will be available for our friends that will be joining us early in morning as well as three snacks throughout the day. Our snack menu is designed to meet dietary guidelines and accommodate any food allergies or restrictions. We believe in the importance of fostering healthy eating habits from a young age.
